Covid-19

We want to make your stay with us as comfortable and enjoyable as we can whilst also ensuring the safety of yourselves, our staff and all other guests. Due to the latest advice regarding Coronavirus we have had to slightly adjust how we operate. Unfortunately, we can no longer be there to greet you on arrival but we will ensure that your accommodation is ready for you and that any information you may require is sent to you prior to your arrival.

We kindly ask that you follow government advice and do not travel to Orkney if you have had any symptoms of Covid-19 and have not completed the correct period of self-isolation. Click here to read the current Scottish government guidance on travel

From Monday 17th May, Orkney will move to level 1.  The rules for self-catering (including overnight stays) are in line with the private dwelling socialising rules as set out in the level’s framework. In level 1, a maximum of 6 people from up to 3 households can socialise in a private dwelling.  Children under the age of 12 from these households do not count towards the total number of people permitted to meet.  This guidance is reviewed at regular intervals and will be updated accordingly. All paper tourist information brochures/leaflets and some decorative items/soft furnishings such as bed throws and cushions have been removed.

Hand sanitizer and disinfectant spray is provided for your use within each lodge.  You will also find a hand sanitizer located in the front porch of each lodge, we ask that you use this each time you leave/arrive at the property.

We ask that all guests be mindful of keeping a 2m distance from other guests and staff whilst in the car park or outdoor areas.

Cleanliness has always been, and continues to be, a top priority here at Taylor’s Rest. Our cleaners are implementing extra measures, in line with the latest Covid-19 guidelines, to ensure that your accommodation is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to your stay.  To help us protect our staff, we kindly ask that you do the following on the day of your departure:
